Kohli, he is an Indian cricketer who plays as a Right-handed batsman and
Right-arm fast bowler. He is the son of former Indian cricketer Mohinder Singh
Kohli and former Indian player Jyoti Kumari.
Virat Kohli signed his first contract with the Delhi
Daredevils at age 16 and was declared a professional player at 19 years of age.
He played for them until 2011 before playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore
for one season in 2012–13. In 2013, he was selected to play for India A in
their tour of South Africa and later became the captain of the Indian national
team from 2014 to 2018. He has played 65 ODIs and 50 T20 Internationals for
India since his debut against Sri Lanka in 2007, where he scored 817 runs at an

February 1954) and Jyoti Kumari (born 28 January 1956). He has two brothers -
Aseemanjan (born 29 July 1989) who plays mainly as an opening batsman[3] and
Shikhar Dhawan (born 1 February 1991), who has played mainly as a right-arm off
break bowler.[4][5][6] As a child, Virat used to play football with his
brothers Aseemanjan[7] and Shikhar Dhawan[8] when they were growing up,[9][10]

Virat Kohli is an Indian cricketer who plays in domestic
cricket for the Delhi Daredevils, and in international cricket for the India
national side. He is also a member of the India Squad A and provides leadership
and advice to Indian cricket team.
On 1 January 2012, Kohli was named captain of the India
National Cricket Team after his father, Mahendra Singh Kohli, resigned as
captain due to health concerns.
Kohli made his debut in international cricket on 1 January
2012 against England at Lord's ground in London, where he was adjudged to have
scored an unbeaten 17 toward the end of which he was caught out for one. He
made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Afghanistan at Mohali
stadium on 18 February 2012. On 20 February 2012, Kohli became the first
cricketer from outside England to score a century in a T20I match when he
scored his maiden T20I century against New Zealand at Auckland's Eden Park
ground. On 11 March 2012, he was named Man of the Match for his innings of 112
not out during India's four-wicket win over Bangladesh in their One-Day

His career in international cricket began on 14 February
2007, when he was picked for the India national under-19 team by coach John
