BBL 2021: Pakistan star All-rounder Shadab Khan will be seen playing with SydneySixers, will represent the team in the remaining matches
Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan has joined two-time Big
Bash League winners Sydney Sixers and will be seen playing as an overseas
player in the remaining matches of 2021-22. The main reason for the inclusion
of Shadab Khan in the team is the injury of off-spinner Ben Manenti. Apart from
this, team player Steve O'Keefe has been out due to injury in the calf.
Shadab has played in all three formats for Pakistan
23 year old Shadab Khan, plays for Pakistan in all three
formats of the game. He has played 64 T20 Internationals for Pakistan so far in
which he has taken 73 wickets. His best performance in T20 Internationals has
been 4 for 14. During the T20 World Cup played in the United Arab Emirates in
October November, Shadab played all six matches for Pakistan in which he took 9
wickets. In the semi-final match against Australia, he took four wickets for 26
runs while bowling brilliantly.
Sydney Sixers coach expressed happiness
Coach Greg Shippard expressed happiness after Shadab Khan
joined the Sydney Sixers squad. He is looking forward to working with the
Pakistan leg-spinner. He said that Shadab has joined as cover for the bowlers.
He will join the team with two new bowlers, Loyal Pope and Todd Murphy। He said that these three
bowlers are still learning but have been very impressed with their performance,
we welcome Shadab Khan to the team and he will be included in the team in the
upcoming matches. Sydney Sixers will face Sydney Thunder on 26 December.
